ПО Назимову - естественно, "проектируя" их, я плюс-минус сверялся с британским аналогом. Там что характерно написано "Только у погребов" - котлы и машины защищены исключительно углем, что, в общем, не слишком работало. . А вообще - будет торпедная опасность - наделают були.
В принципе, продольные переборки в машинных отделениях есть, можно и в котлеьных поставить, котлы нефтяные, уголь из ям грести не надо, так что единовременно будет затапливаться максимум два котла.
Что касается "Забияки" - т.к. турбина только форсажная, а на ходах до 15.2 узлов используется дизель-электрическая установка - турбины и котлы работают только в режиме полного хода. Соответственно, ресурс им особый не нужен, и турбины (и котлы) берутся с эсминцев, относительно малоресурсные, но легкие. Вообще "Забияка" это скорее большой истребитель, зачисленный в крейсера только волею Толича (в смысле Петра) - "броня есть - значит крейсер".
